Mild-Hybrid Engine

The self-charging 1.0 EcoBoost Hybrid engine is designed to maximise efficiency and minimise emissions. This state-of-the-art engine uses a small electric motor with a 48-volt battery to provide extra torque for the petrol engine when needed. The mild-hybrid system uses regenerative braking technology, charging the battery by making use of energy that is usually lost when the car slows down.

With the choice of 125 PS or 155 PS power outputs, this engine offers the type of performance that you would expect from a 1.5-litre unit, but with better fuel economy and lower CO₂ emissions.
